Im looking for the title so I can reread the series as a adult. The book was based on the girls struggles too become a warrior and survive. She gets a horse which I think was called morning star.
The tribe mistakes her for a sorcerer as all she has is a backpack with a personal cassette player, a can of orange fizzy pop amonst other things.
The cover had a girl with jeans a jumper and a backpack.
